After being left out of Manchester United’s squad to face AC Milan in the Europa League in midweek, Eric Bailly is ready to turn down the club’s new contract bid.
The Ivory Coast international did not fly to San Siro in midweek after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said he was “being measured,” with United winning 1-0 and progressing thanks to a Paul Pogba hit.
Despite an inconsistent season, Bailly is said to be in line for a new deal at Old Trafford, but he is expected to reject it after becoming increasingly unhappy with his situation under Solskjaer.
“Eric has had it already,” an insider told The Sun. “Simply put, he does not feel needed or appreciated by the boss. Eric does not think he receives any answers or explanations about how he is handled, because he believes he is the easiest one to leave out. It’s a real shame because Eric always shows us how much he loves the club and how much the fans admire him. But it’s gotten to the point this week that he needs to consider his options.”
