On the sidelines, Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Erik Lamela is facing a short spell.
So far this season, the Argentine playmaker has been a regular in the Lilywhites team, making 10 appearances in all competitions and scoring two goals in the process.
Spurs head coach Jose Mourinho, however, disclosed that Lamela will miss the trip to Bulgaria ahead of the Europa League victory over Ludogorets.
Mourinho said in his pre-match press conference, “Lamela has a little problem for a few weeks and after the last match we agreed it’s time to stop and have this week, plus the two weeks of international, for him to completely recover.”
As a consequence, the 28-year-old will miss the Premier League clash against West Bromwich Albion this weekend and is unlikely to face Manchester City after the international break.
With that said, considering the injury setback, Lamela remains in positive spirits.
The midfielder posted a few photos and videos of him on social media on Friday afternoon, already working hard to be eligible for selection again.
Lamela’s right foot in a protective boot is seen in the video below, but he made a promise that Spurs fans will love it.
He posted on Instagram,” I have a problem with my foot and I have to be out of the game for a short period to repair it.”
