Everton will call for “full disclosure” of Manchester City’s information given to the Premier League that led to the postponement of the fixture hours before kick-off on Monday at Goodison Park.
A Premier League board meeting agreed to rearrange the fixture after seeking medical advice before postponing a match that would have been attended by 2,000 home fans, a decision that left Everton frustrated and disappointed.
“Our players were ready for the match, as were both the team employees and everyone at Goodison,” the statement said. Matchday is our calendar’s most significant day. And it’s been a significant one. Although Everton will still have the highest standards of public safety, we will request full disclosure of all the data given to the Premier League by Manchester City so that the club can be transparent on why this decision was made.
