It’s a pleasure to be part of this Chelsea squad and the Chelsea family at one of the Premier League’s most iconic clubs. It’s a tough time for everyone right now and I feel privileged with this opportunity and appreciate the opportunity. I would like to thank my team-mates for helping me be my best and I would like to thank the manager and the club for extending my contract. I’m sure they will keep demanding the maximum from me and I’m going to be competing with the same energy as ever. I’m so happy.”

Coach Frank Lampard, on the other hand, said, “Since I was back in Chelsea, Olivier has been brilliant as a professional and as a man in general. He has great qualities to help the squad both on and off the pitch, not only with his talent but with the example he sets every day and the experience he brings to our young squad. I’m very pleased that next season will continue.”
