Former Manchester United and Liverpool midfielder Paul Ince spoke out in the 19th round of the Premier League about the teams’ 0-0 game.
“From the first whistle, you could see Manchester United’s game plan – they defended very, very deeply. In the first half, Thought Man United was really bad,’ Ince noted to talkSport.
“I recall when Mourinho took Man United to Anfield a couple of years ago and parked the bus. He was killed just for it. In the first half, that’s exactly what Ole Gunnar Solskjaer did.
Everyone thought Man Utd would be defensive and rely on their fast players to counterattack, like Martial and Rashford. I played for Manchester United, however.
You just don’t go defensively to Anfield to play. For Manchester United, it was a chance to explain what they are all about. They just sat deep in their defense, though, which disappoints me.”
