Liverpool eventually gets their hands on the Premier League trophy after beating Chelsea and Jurgen Klopp says he couldn’t be more proud.
Jurgen Klopp says it will be “one of the best days of my career” with his Liverpool side winning the Premier League trophy Wednesday.
It’s been almost a month since Liverpool was announced as England champions for the first time in 30 years, but the club had to be careful with the presentation of silverware.
Despite knowing that the day is coming, and already celebrating among themselves, Klopp vowed that when he and his players are awarded their Kop medals (via Sportsmax) there will be no sense of anti-climax.
“That’s sort of like Christmas,” said Klopp.
“If you already know when you get a particular gift before you get it, there’s always a bit of anticipation. For that, we are really happy. For obvious reasons, I have never touched a Premier League trophy before. That is going to be different. I ‘m completely pleased that the boys have this moment because they deserve it more than anybody else. They’ve worked extremely hard and in the past few years, they’ve struggled with so many setbacks. This season we have won the title but we’ve already planned for two, three years. Until this moment it’s been a very long run-up and it’s going to be 100 percent emotional again. How emotional I don’t know, but you have to wait before you feel them, and that’s how it is with emotions.”
