Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Kai Havertz will move to a team not qualified for the Champions League next season, BBC reports.

The 21-year-old international Germany wants to leave this summer’s Bundesliga club and has been connected to Chelsea and Real Madrid.

Havertz considers a long-term approach equally important for a club.

Chelsea, who host Norwich on Tuesday, is third in the Premier League but leads Leicester fourth and Manchester United fifth by one point.

Only the top four will qualify for next season’s Champions League after the removal of the European ban on Manchester City on Monday.
