Tiempo de Juego was told by the 26-year-old goalkeeper: “I have never thought about leaving Chelsea.”

We won the Europa League, qualified for the Champions League, and I played for the national team during my very good [first] season. We changed coaches for the second year.

“With Lampard, there had been no problem. I didn’t offer my best version of it [and] it’s true that I didn’t play the way I wanted to play.

The Spain international began the 2020-21 campaign between the sticks for Chelsea.

He was, however, quickly replaced by Mendy, and by mid-October, he fell out of Premier League favor.

Kepa had to wait four months for his next top-flight start after losing in a 3-3 draw against Southampton.

Thomas Tuchel gave him a starting berth for a 2-0 victory over Newcastle, has also lined up immediately before that in an FA Cup win at Barnsley.

Kepa is already up to nine outings for the season and hopes there will be more to come.

“In his battle for game time, he added: “I have no problem with it [but] I want to turn it around. Start a bit of playing. I want to be here and feel stronger, and I want to look forward to the future.

I am not getting carried away [with the back-to-back starts], but after inactivity, they felt good. I think I’ll play more soon.

At Chelsea, what I want is to feel important, get back to the goal, and enjoy myself.

“I believe I can do it in my head. I’m not nervous. I would like to feel more necessary and to strive for it. We’ll see what’s going to happen.’
