Jurgen Klopp confessed that he had been pursuing Diogo Jota for several years after seeing the newly-signed Portuguese star scored his first Liverpool goal on Monday.
The Portuguese star produced several opportunities in his short time on the pitch before scoring, with Klopp stating that it is that ability set that has attracted him to Jota for many years.
“With Diogo Jota, I am so pleased. Top, top man,’ said Klopp to the BBC.
“It’s too difficult to develop a team like ours. For two or three years, he has been on my radar. He’s here, finally.”
This is Jota’s second match in Liverpool, after the Carabao Cup’s midweek debut against Lincoln City.
