Following a fall on the edge of a swimming pool, it has been confirmed that Luis Muriel needs stitches to his head, but has no permanent damage and will be available this weekend to Atalanta.
The striker was expected to feature or even start in this evening’s Serie A match against Brescia.
According to various sources, including Sky Sport Italia, the Colombia international slipped and hit his head on the poolside during a get-together with his teammates.
Muriel was admitted to hospital and tested, but Tuttomercatoweb reports they returned negative, and no significant head trauma occurs. He has been left with a bad cut requiring stitches and tonight is clearly out of the match.
Muriel is, however, suspected to be available by the weekend for the upcoming Serie A game against Hellas Verona.
The 29-year-old is one of their top scorers on this term, finding the net 17 times in 29 Series A appearances, most of them off the bench.
