Harry Maguire praised Manchester United and England’s team-mate Marcus Rashford as the most talented footballer he’s ever played with and claims the “exceptional career” of the forward will be.

Rashford scored 14 league goals in 22 appearances for United, before he was sidelined in January by a double stress fracture to his back.

Rashford has arguably enjoyed his finest season since breaking into the first team from the United in 2016, scoring 18 times in all competitions before being hit by injury in January. Maguire was impressed with what he saw from his England international teammate, who is ranked above Raheem Sterling and Jadon Sancho.

Maguire described Rashford as a “wonderful player” and feels that as a potential leader the academy graduate will emerge.

“As a club, I think you ought to have a captain and rely on him, but you need to spread the group leadership burden,” Maguire told the official podcast of the club.

“He tries to make himself available. I think you can see around the stadium, on and off the field as well, he ‘s amazing with his charity work, which is nice to see.” He’s impressed me on the pitch as I said. He’s the best player I’ve ever played with.

Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer handed the captain’s bracelet to Maguire in his first campaign at the club after a world-record fee for a defender joined the center-back from Leicester last summer.

Maguire was impressed with the performance of Rashford both on and off the pitch, citing his charity work as an indication of his leadership skills during the coronavirus pandemic.

“I’ve always talked so much about Marcus when I was in the England squad with him. I can’t speak of him highly enough,” he added.

Matteo Darmian, meanwhile, tilted Rashford to suit the exploits of Kylian Mbappe, a Paris Saint-Germain striker.
