In the last match of Sunday’s 25th round program, the Manchester United players returned to the second position in the English Championship standings 3-1 (1-1) with a home victory over Newcastle United.

After a nice solo action by Rashford in the thirtieth minute, United took the lead, but just six minutes later Saint-Maximin went from 15 meters to 1-1 with a big shot.

James returned the advantage to the United side in the 57th minute, crowning Matić’s excellent results, and the final result was set by Bruno Fernandes from a penalty kick in the 75th minute.

Second United now has 49 points, and third Leicester City, which beat Aston Villa 2-1 (2-0) as guests earlier on Sunday, while leading Manchester City, which beat Arsenal 1-0 as guests, has 10 more points.

With 25 points, Newcastle was 17th, three more than 18th-placed Fulham in the relegation zone.
