It is confirmed that Mauricio Pochettino, former Tottenham Hotspur manager, could become a contender to replace Quique Setien as the head coach for Barcelona.
Pochettino has been without a job since leaving Tottenham at the end of last year but Argentinian is widely predicted to be back in the game for the season 2020-21. Setien reportedly remains as Barca’s head coach until their last-16 second leg of the Champions League against Napoli on August 8, but doubt exists about the 61-year-old ‘s future.
With Laurent Blanc and Patrick Kluivert being linked to the job, the Catalan giants beaten to La Liga title this season by Real Madrid are expected to find managerial candidates, .
But according to Marca, Pochettino may also be in the running for the job.
The report notes that Barca has already ‘approached’ the 48-year-old since leaving Tottenham but the former Espanyol boss also has to decide his next move.
Newcastle United, Benfica, Monaco and Juventus have all been named as suitors, too.
