Mesut Ozil Left Out Of Europa League Squad At Arsenal

Mesut Özil was left out of the 25-man Europa League squad at Arsenal, further underlining that he had no part in Mikel Arteta’s plans.

Given that the Premier League rosters must be finalized on 20 October under the same guidelines, with clubs only able to select 17 players listed as ‘non-homegrown,’ it seems highly likely that both Özil and Papastathopoulos will also be excluded from the top-flight until January.

Seven months have passed since Özil’s last appearance for Arsenal, and so far this season, he hasn’t been part of any matchday squad.

Given the hectic schedule of Arsenal’s face, he might be enlisted for action on Thursday nights, but he did not make the cut for Arteta’s “A” list, and it seems certain that he played his last club game according to The Guardian.
