Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho has confirmed that he has not explored Harry Kane’s future with him and that he is happy with Hugo Lloris. Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho expects the upcoming off-season transfer window to be “strange” due to the financial effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on football clubs.
Mourinho played down rumors about Kane’s future, claiming they haven’t addressed it and that he expects this summer to be unusual, though he declined to comment on Spurs’ transfer targets.
“We know what we want, but we should all expect a strange summer,” Mourinho said ahead of Tottenham’s Premier League match against Newcastle on Sunday, according to The Guardian.
“I think it would be a little strange in terms of a new transfer window from past seasons, but I don’t believe it is for someone battling for his future at this time.” I assume it is about everybody vying for the points we need to end the season as well as possible.”
Kane has been linked with a move to Manchester City, the most recent club to be linked with the England striker.
When asked if he and Mourinho had discussed his career, Mourinho said, “No, it does not. He works too hard every day. He has three years left on his contract [left]. I don’t have much to say to him. Unless he needs to talk to me about it because up until now he has never asked me about it.”
