Nicolas Anelka has played for Liverpool and Real Madrid on Merseyside and he believes that Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane will continue to live on.
Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane are strong enough to play for Real Madrid in the opinion of Nicolas Anelka but the Frenchman has urged the pair to stay with Liverpool.
Attacking pair Salah and Mane have played an instrumental role this season for a Red side that sang to a first English championship in 30 years.
In the Premier League, Salah has scored 19 times and given nine assists, while Mane has two fewer goals and assists, the pair proving effective in flanking Roberto Firmino in the center.
Surely these figures must have piqued the interest of Real Madrid, but Anelka, who spent an outstanding campaign with Los Blancos in 1999-00 after impressing with Arsenal in the Premier League, believes Liverpool is the best place for both Salah and Mane.
Anelka told the Liverpool Echo: “This is a beautiful three sides. I love all of them, especially Roberto Firmino because he is the key to the success of Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane. Right now, Salah and Mane rank among the top five best players in the world. Playing for Real Madrid they have the quality. But now Liverpool can contend with Real Madrid and they don’t need to move around. Anfield is the place to be.”
Anelka returned to England in 2001 joining Liverpool on a short-term loan deal with Paris Saint-Germain.
