Pierluigi Collina has been called the best referee of all time by France Football:’ He wrote the history of football.’
The publication has presented its all-time dream team with the Ballon d’Or that was not awarded for the year 2020 due to the COVID pandemic and has appointed Collina as the best referee of all time.

During his career, Collina supervised 240 Serie A games and 109 international matches, including the 2002 World Cup final between Germany and Brazil.
From 1998 until 2005, the IFFHS voted him the best referee in the world.
