Andrea Pirlo, the head coach of Juventus, has spoken about his goals for the second leg of the Champions League quarterfinal against Porto (1-2 in the first game).
According to the BBC, Pirlo said, “We’re well aware that there’s a lot of weight on our backs, but we’re not trying to hide from it. We have everything to play for, but we will not underestimate our opponent. Porto is a fine, tough squad, but we are Juventus, and we have to think about moving on to the next round. We must not make a mistake tomorrow. Throughout the game, we’ll have to be as enthusiastic and concentrated as possible.”
“Chiellini has been practicing with the general squad, he feels fine, and I believe he will be available tomorrow,” says the coach.
“De Ligt has only served separately since warming up with the team. Arthur isn’t fully prepared, but he’ll be able to start the game in the starting lineup. We’re hoping he’ll be able to play for as long as he needs to.
Bernardeschi is good and could start the game in the first minute, but the decision will be made tomorrow. McKennie is doing well, but there has been a long-standing problem. We’re trying to handle his time as efficiently as possible because he can’t play the whole 90 minutes.
Morata has made a lot of progress and is a very ambitious forward. He’s looking for his approach to each team, and he enjoys reading the opposition, which is ideal for a striker at this level.”
