In contracts for new players and those already on their books, Premier League and EFL clubs have reportedly begun to incorporate ‘Covid clauses’.

According to a Sky Sports report, which states clubs have taken to their contracts to plan extra small print, this leads to longer and more difficult negotiations.

Teams do this if the coronavirus pandemic continues to escalate, and, according to Sky Sports, games will have to go on behind closed doors after the end of this season.

According to Prime Minister Boris Johnson today, as reported by Sky News, there is perhaps renewed optimism as the COVID-19 vaccine roll-out is stepping up across the UK at the moment, with 2.4 million jabs already administered.
