Moise Kean could miss Paris Saint-Champions Germain’s League final against Barcelona next week after the Italian forward tested positive for Covid-19, according to the French champions. After contracting the virus, Kean, 21, will miss PSG’s Ligue 1 match against Bordeaux on Wednesday. The club said, “He’ll remain in Paris… he’ll respect isolation and is subject to the required health protocol.”
PSG will face Barca in the last 16, second leg Champions League clash at the Parc des Princes on Wednesday. PSG are strong favorites to advance to the quarter-finals after cruising to a 4-1 victory in the first leg at the Camp Nou.
Kean has been in excellent form recently, scoring four goals in his last five games in all competitions, including one in last month’s thrashing of Barcelona.
Since joining on loan from Everton in October, he has scored 11 goals in Ligue 1.
Due to Kean’s late withdrawal, Mauricio Pochettino will be without four of his attacking stars for the match against Bordeaux, with Neymar, Kylian Mbappe, and Angel Di Maria all ruled out.
In a close title chase, PSG is two points behind league leaders Lille, who face Marseille on Wednesday, with Lyon and Monaco a further one and two points behind.
