The past few years have given Real Madrid fans a glorious reminder of why their team is the most popular in Europe.
Los Blancos celebrated their most consistent period of success as Kings of European football since the days of Di Stefano, Puskas, and Gento et al., with Zinedine Zidane at the helm.
While since their last Champions League victory against Liverpool in 2018, the Spanish giant’s crown has slipped a little, they are still a force to be reckoned with on their day.
It has not escaped the notice of President Florentino Perez, however, that those days are few and far between.
To that end, he knows that some significant decisions need to be taken, and, according to Don Balon, Sergio Ramos, the successor to the club’s captain, has already been named.
Ramos is looking for one more major payday at 34, but a loss of form has seen Perez go from theoretically agreeing to the Spaniard seeing out his Santiago Bernabeu playing days, to getting him off a spiraling wage bill.
Don Balon says Jules Kounde of Seville and Pau Torres of Villarreal will be attacked, and both might even arrive, as Perez is known not to be too pleased with Raphael Varane either.
