Ronald Koeman and Joan Laporta have met for the first time since the latter was elected president of Barcelona. Their meeting took place on Tuesday, and the Dutchman was told that he would remain on the Camp Nou bench through the 2021/22 season.
According to TV3, the meeting went well, and Mateu Alemany and Ramon Planes were also present.
It was a casual gathering, but Laporta made it clear that he wanted Koeman to remain at the club. He had already done so during the Champions League trip to Paris, his first game since winning the election.
Koeman has asked to have the final say on new signings in the future, as he likes players that he sees as having a future in the squad.
What is obvious now is that Koeman has the club’s full confidence.
