Jadon Sancho is among a group of Borussia Dortmund stars who are at risk of censorship over a celebrity hairdresser’s hiring. The Bundesliga, which is the first of the top five leagues in Europe to restart after the interruption to the 2019-20 season caused by the coronavirus pandemic, has set strict guidelines to prevent further spread of the disease and to protect the health of players and staff.

Players undergo daily training, and on the pitch are prohibited from shaking hands with opponents, celebrating goals with embraces, or any other physical contact that is not necessary.

The league has also tried to minimize risks off the pitch, with the protocol stating that players should not have direct contact with their neighbors, the public and that they should stay at home and have no visitors.

But six players in Dortmund are accused of breaking those regulations after enlisting star coiffeur Winnie Nana Karkari ‘s services Thursday.

According to Bild, none of the players, or the hairdresser were engaged in the compulsory use of face masks. Players who visited Karkari to cut their hair were Jadon Sancho, Raphael Guerreiro, Manuel Akanji, Thorgan Hazard, Axel Witsel, and Dan-Axel Zagadou. Karkari did home visits to cut their hair and photographs reported by the German daily indicate that neither the players nor the hairdressers were following the compulsory use of face masks rule.

“Commonly, after all these months our guys have to get their hair cut,” Dortmund answered Bild when questioned about the story.

Also, Karkari spoke about the accusations, maintaining that he removed his mask “for the photos” and “stuck very strictly to all hygiene laws.”

Since German football returned to action, Dortmund has continued their fine pre-lockdown style, winning three out of four games and scoring 12 goals while conceding just twice.
