UEFA is set to stage the draw for the quarter-final of the 2019/20 Champions League in Nyon next Friday.
According to As, it is also predicted that the governing body will confirm that the final four outstanding rounds of 16 return leg matches will be held on the home grounds of Manchester City, Bayern Munich, Juventus, and FC Barcelona after initial conjecture suggested that those games will be held in Portugal.
UEFA was concerned that these games were initially staged in Portugal ahead of the quarter-finals and subsequent games in competition with Porto and Guimarães, the towns designated to host the Round 16 return leg matches.
However, in the decision that UEFA will confirm on Friday, pressure from City and Barça to play on their respective grounds was ultimately instrumental.
The outstanding games to be played in the 16 round will take place at Sporting CP and Benfica ‘s homes on 7th and 8th August with the quarter-finals beginning on 12th August with one game a day in Lisbon.
On 23 August, the Estadio da Luz will host both semi-finals (18/19 August) with a final.
