If Frank Lampard were to be replaced at Stamford Bridge, Thomas Tuchel will reportedly be interested in taking the Chelsea job.
After the German and Paris Saint-Germain came to an understanding on the termination of his contract in France, he is free to search for a new club, with him expected to earn £ 5.4 million as Mauricio Pochettino closes in on becoming the new Parc Des Princes manager.
In recent weeks, Lampard has been under heavy pressure, with Chelsea losing three of their last four and all eyes are on Monday evening’s Blues’ Premier League match against Aston Villa.
As per BILD, Lampard ‘must shake’ if the Blues lost to Dean Smith’s side, and Tuchel is keen to work at Chelsea with the German trio of Timo Werner, Kai Havertz, and Antonio Rudiger.
Tuchel doesn’t intend for a long period to be out of a job.
Following sub-par performances, Chelsea is under pressure to deliver results that have seen them fall to defeats against Everton, Wolves, and Arsenal in their last four matches.
Lampard wants his players to reply and expects a response on Monday night ahead of the Blues’ must-win game.
“We are still close to the top end of the table and I feel there is a big improvement coming because of the youth in our team, and the freshness because of players who have come in, so I expect that but we have to work for it.”
