After the 29th round, EPL match against Manchester United, Crystal Palace defender Patrick van Aanholt was mocked on social media (0-0).

The footballer tweeted a screenshot of derogatory messages from an Instagram user after missing a one-on-one chance against Manchester United. “This is why we take a knee…” he captioned it.

Van Aanholt got a message that said, “Fck you.” You can’t score in a one-on-one situation? Idiot. Palace has 3.60 chances to score first, and you can’t score. You’re a scumbag. You monkey, why didn’t you break your neck? “You’re a s***y player.”

Racism has been directed at Manchester United players Axel Tuanzebe, Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, Chelsea’s Rhys James, and Arsenal’s Willian and Edward Nketiah on social media in recent weeks.
