Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk underwent surgery due to a knee ligament injury, Liverpool’s official website states.
The procedure, carried out in London, was a success. The 29-year-old player is now starting rehabilitation.
The club still doesn’t report when van Dijk’s returns. The Player was seriously injured in a derby with Paddy after a fight with rival goalie Jordan Pickford.
Liverpool defenseman Virgil van Dijk had a “good” operation on his knee ligament injury, the club says.
The 29-year-old has not played since the injury of the anterior cruciate ligaments (ACL) in a match between the 2-2 Premier League goalie Jordan Pickford on 17 October.
Liverpool said “no timeframe has been set” on Van Dijk’s return.
“This time [after an operation] is always unpleasant. It’s as good as it can be,” said manager Jurgen Klopp.
“The surgery was a success, which is very good, the best news we could get.”
Returning to action after ACL surgery can take several months.
