Man City revealed they were shocked on learning about the alleged abuse of Phil Foden and his family during an altercation at the Kell Brook and Aamir Khan fight. There was video footage circulating social media that showed the player reacting to a fight that broke out in the arena. Sources revealed that the fight involved Foden’s family members who were harassed and abused. Man City had their lead in the title race cut down to three points after Harry Kane scored a late winner.
“GMP is aware of a video circulating on social media showing a disturbance at the AO arena last night (19 February 2022). We are conducting some further inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident,” the Greater Manchester Police said.
“The club is aware of a video which has circulated on social media showing Phil Foden and his family being harassed and abused,” Man City said in a statement. “We are shocked and appalled about the nature of the abuse and ensuing assault on one of Phil’s family members. We will continue to give Phil and his family all the support and assistance they need.”
