To make a bid for Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero, Paris Saint-Germain have been tipped. New PSG boss Mauricio Pochettino will make the Argentine his key summer transfer target, according to football agent Bruno Satin. Satin reported in an interview with Canal+ that the former Tottenham Hotspur boss was eager to secure Aguero’s services.
The current contract for the forward expires at the end of the season and an extension has yet to be negotiated by City. While it is known that he would prefer to continue with the Premier League club, the 32-year-old is reportedly free to agree on pre-contract terms elsewhere.
Ever since joining Atletico Madrid in 2011, Aguero has gained iconic status with City. In 379 games, he has scored 256 goals to help the club win 10 major trophies. However, this season, injuries have limited Aguero to just five league appearances, which may explain why City failed to discuss a new contract. Although Aguero is keen to remain at City, it may be too sweet to turn down the chance to secure a bumper payday with PSG.
As he moves into the latter stages of his career, the calmer waters of Ligue 1 could also appeal to Aguero.
From his time in the Premier League, Pochettino is acquainted with Aguero’s talent and it is easy to see why he would like to obtain his services.
