VAR ‘s decision left David Moyes fuming

VAR ‘s decision not to disallow the opener for a handball by Tottenham in their 2-0 win over West Ham left David Moyes fuming.

Moyes told Sky Sports: “They ruled it as a target, I can’t believe. Do the rules state they disallow any handball that leads to a goal? For that, they have a brilliant goal ruled against Sheffield United-so they have n’t sorted out this one? What was tonight on VAR?”

“They need submissive, I know. Not so sweet, huh? That is the norm.
It’s not a very good rule, I suppose, but that’s the law. Not giving them this tonight? I couldn’t believe it. I couldn’t believe it.”

Moyes later added in his post-match press conference: “I thought any ball that hit an arm would get chalked off and led to a goal. My question is who made the decision? We scored a very nice goal in the 90th minute at Sheffield United and the boy said it was handball and we didn’t believe it.”

“Do I think that is a fair rule? I don’t. No. Everything that was on VAR tonight wasn’t doing his job well and he didn’t follow the criteria that we were told to deal with.”
