GK: Yassine Bounou – 8/10 – Effectively controlled his box and made some spectacular stops.
RB: Achraf Hakimi – 7/10 – Hakimi, a full-back known for his aggressive style, demonstrated his defensive prowess with a superbly controlled performance.
CB: Jawad El Yamiq – 8/10 – The loss of Nayef Aguerd appeared to be a fatal blow to Morocco’s aspirations, but El Yamiq stepped up.
CB: Romain Saiss – 7/10 – Dug deep and persevered despite hamstring discomfort in the final 16 minutes for slightly about an hour.
LB: Yahia Attiyat Allah – 9/10 – An almost flawless effort on the field, stretching the play in the offensive third and securing Portugal’s right side.
CM: Sofyan Amrabat – 7/10 – Kept his composure and remained calm in a midfield duel that Morocco readily conceded after an hour.
CM: Azzedine Ounahi – 8/10 – It is simple to understand why the Angers midfielder so impressed with Luis Enrique. He had a twinkle in his toes and enchantment in his boots.
CM: Selim Amallah – 8/10 – Flittered between the lines and frequently took the initiative in counterattacks, edging out his Portuguese teammates.
RW: Hakim Ziyech – 7/10 – Had flashes of creative brilliance but not over extended stretches, albeit the game plan again made this reasonable.
CF: Youssef En-Nesyri – 8/10 – Remained active and made life difficult for Portugal’s defenders. His aim seemed to need an incredibly great leap. Currently the first Moroccan World Cup player with three goals.
LW: Sofiane Boufal – 7/10 – We only caught glimmers of brilliance, like Ziyech.
